Dear Carrillo Families,

Carrillo’s 18th Annual Camp Pendleton Food Drive Reminder
This week is the final push for the 18th Annual Camp Pendleton Food Drive! So far, we have collected about two pallets worth of canned food, diapers, and wipes. Last year, Carrillo collected five pallets worth of donations so we still have a long way to go.

Did you know?
Carrillo has traditionally accounted for 90% of the food, diapers, and wipes for what Camp Pendleton has in stock for the young Marines and their families. What a tremendous impact our community has had over the years!

This drive is a wonderful way to show our Camp Pendleton Marines how much we appreciate the sacrifices they make for us. Remember, we are looking for donations of canned/boxed/packaged food items, diapers and baby wipes. All donations go directly to the Camp Pendleton Marine families.

We will be collecting donations every day this week until Thursday. The grade level that collects the most cans by Thursday, December 20th will be awarded extra recess immediately after the Flag Salute on December 21st and have extra time with the Marines that visit. All donated items will be presented to the Camp Pendleton Marines at our Flag Salute on Friday, December 21st. #carrillocoltscare!

Camp Pendleton Flag Salute and Minimum Day- December 21

Lost and Found
Next week is your last chance to pick up lost and found items. During winter break, all lost and found items will be donated to local organizations that will distribute the items to those in need.

Beanie/Winter Hat Drive
A few students from LCM and Carrillo are coordinating a beanie/winter hat drive to assist those in need that live in North County. Please see below and help them out with this important cause.

Help us share warmth with community members in need by donating new or gently used winter hats. Beanies will be collected in a donation box at Carrillo until December 17th and then distributed by the Community Resource Center. Thanks for your #carrillocoltscare!

Reminder Regarding Personal Toys
Students should not bring personal toys to school. They become a distraction to the learning environment and are frequently lost, causing anxiety for the children. If students are at a loss for what to do during recess and lunch, please let me know, and we can brainstorm additional activities to provide students to keep them busy. Please remind your children not to bring their toys from home. Thank you!
