Dear Carrillo Families,

Thank you to everyone who attended the Fall Bash yesterday. We hope your families enjoyed this fantastic community event. Special thanks to Drea Colores and Kelly Hill for organizing the event, and thank you to all of the sponsors and volunteers for your hard work. Our PTO truly goes above and beyond to serve our school community! Please keep an eye out for information on PTO's next community event on Friday, December 10th, our first annual Festival of Lights to benefit 5th-grade promotion.

Big thanks to Mrs. McCoy for running the Book Fair and all families who volunteered and purchased books. We raised a lot of money which will go towards more books in the library! Most importantly, it’s so great to see and hear students having conversations around the new releases and popular titles!

Pledge Drive

Thank you families for your donations to the pledge drive!  Pledge drive ends tomorrow, October 18.  The classroom popsicle party contest will close tomorrow at midnight!  There will also be a party for the class with the school-wide highest percent participation.  Every amount helps, please donate!

Food and Diaper Drive to benefit Camp Pendleton Marines kicks off TOMORROW, October 18. Donate at least ten food cans or a box of diapers during the first week (before October 23) to earn a raffle ticket for fun Carrillo swag bags. Thank you, Girls Scout Troup 1267, for your help with collections!

Our Carrillo Community collected eight pallets of food, diapers, and wipes for Marines and their families two years ago. This tradition has gone on for about two decades, and we hope it will continue to serve our local Marine heroes who do so much for our nation. Please consider contributing canned food, diapers, and wipes! Donations can be dropped off on Mondays and Fridays over the next four weeks. When you make a drop-off, please indicate the student’s grade level. Students are also preparing a concert for the Marines when they visit to pick up their donations. We are still working on the details of their visit and will keep you posted.

SMUSD Communication Survey

We need your input about communication at San Marcos Unified School District. The information we receive from our parents & guardians will help shape our future districtwide communication to best serve you. This anonymous survey will be open through Friday, October 22, and is designed to take approximately 90 seconds - we thank you for your time to provide your valued feedback!
