Marine Corps Food Drive

Carrillo's annual Food Drive that benefits our local Camp Pendleton Marines is underway! This year the Marines will visit Carrillo on Friday, December 13. We will give them our donations and honor them with a special flag salute celebration! We will have various incentives and fun challenges as the campaign proceeds. The grade with the most contributions as of December 12 will earn extra recess with the Marines! Students may bring cans to their classrooms or MPR any day. Donation pickup is available from cars every Thursday morning. Donate cans, nonperishable foods, diapers, and wipes to help us reach our school-wide collection goal of 8 PALLETS this year! Let's do this, Carrillo!

No Toys at School

As a reminder, we do not allow students to bring toys to school, except for special rewards. When students bring toys, they tend to break or get lost which adds more stress to the kids and adults. Please encourage your children to leave the toys at home.

Halloween

Students will be allowed to wear a costume on Halloween this year. Please ensure the costumes are school appropriate. They should not be scary or revealing. Students also may not wear masks or weapons. If your child’s costume doesn’t meet these criteria, wearing pajamas is a great alternative since they are mostly character-based.

Important Dates:

October 19-December 11- Canned Food, Diapers, and Baby Wipe Drive for the Camp Pendleton Marines

October 31- School Spirit- Costume or pajamas

November 1- Family Picnic

November 8- PTO Meeting
