Meet Mrs. Williams

photo of my family at DisneylandI'm Mrs. Williams and this year will be my twelfth year in education. I began teaching at  Carrillo Elementary School in 2014 after moving to San Diego from Orange County, where I also taught 4th grade in Mission Viejo. I am a graduate of California State University, Long Beach. In addition, I have a Multiple Subject teaching credential as well as a Masters Degree in Education, specializing in Best Practices for 21st Century Learning. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I absolutely love learning both inside and outside of the classroom. I have four children and my oldest two attend Carrillo as well. When I am not in the classroom, I like to ride my bike every morning, go to Disneyland, travel, and spend time at home with my family! I love to write and create using technology and I hope to share that love with your children with our morning meeting journals, paragraphs of the week and project-based learning.  I am an advocate for creativity and the arts in the classroom.  I have a musical theatre background and consistently look for opportunities to let my students explore their inner thespian during classroom activities and readers theater.  I am drawn to new technology and how I might incorporate it in the classroom with my students to enrich their learning experience. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your children and I am so excited to be their teacher!
