Good morning Carrillo Families,

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday, and for those of you who celebrate, a Happy Hanukah as well!

Food and Diaper Drive to benefit Camp Pendleton Marines

This is the final week of canned food, diaper, and wipes donations. So far, we have only collected three pallets. In years past, we collected at least six, so we are hoping for a big push this week to give our local Marines a big show of gratitude. Let’s do this Carrillo! If you are available any day this week to help with collections, we can really use you! Here is the signup genius if you’d like to help. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f094ca9a729a1fe3-camp

Marine Corps Flag Salute/Visitor Guidelines

On December 3, Marines from Camp Pendleton will be coming to Carrillo to pick up all of our donations and be honored with a special Flag Salute/Performance. The Flag Salute serves as a salute to all service members. We would love to invite any parents or grandparents within our community who are veterans or active duty service members as well. However, all parents are welcome to attend this special event. Due to COVID mandates, there are two important items I need everyone to follow if they would like to attend.

  1. Please complete this RSVP form ahead of the event. Due to new COVID-related laws, we are required to inform all visitors if there is a COVID positive case on campus if it occurs while they are here. By completing this form, you will not need to check in using the front office, which is very time-consuming. We will have tables set up outside to check in and receive a sticker when you arrive. Please look for the table that corresponds with your child’s last name.
  2. We are required to keep parents/visitors separated from the student body while on campus so please remain in the designated area during the event. When the Flag Salute concludes, I will have the parents/visitors exit the school first before releasing the students to interact with the Marines.

24 Game Enrichment Club Reminder (4th and 5th-grade only)

The 24 Game will resume after break on Monday, November 29, and continue through December 13.  Parents, please remember to be on time in our parking lot to pick up your child at 4:00.  You may park and walk up or drive into the KOC lot.
